IAC/Interactive appoints a new president

Doug Lebda is the next president and chief operating officer of IAC/Interactive. He will be in charge of most daily senior management responsibilities and report directly to CEO Barry Diller.

IAC/Interactive Corp. has named Doug Lebda as president and chief operating officer. Lebda was CEO of IAC Financial Services and Real Estate.

Lebda is the founder of LendingTree, which he conceived in 1996 after writing a business plan during his first year at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Previously, Lebda worked as an auditor and consultant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He holds a bachelor of business administration degree from Bucknell University.

At IAC/Interactive he will be in charge of most daily senior management responsibilities. “The addition of Doug Lebda to our senior management group is going to allow me to spend the time I need to on overall strategies and opportunities,” says IAC/Interactive CEO and chairman Barry Diller.

IAC/Interactive, No. 31 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, is the parent of Home Shopping Network, including HSN.com, and Cornerstone Brands, which operates a number of e-commerce and catalog retailers such as Ballard Designs, Frontgate, Garnet Hill, Smith + Noble, The Territory Ahead and TravelSmith.
