Online shopping searches rise 9.8% from June to October, Nielsen reports

The number of Internet searches for retail shopping rose 9.8% from June to October, rising from 70.35 million to 77.27 million, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.

 

The number of Internet searches for retail shopping increased 9.8% from June to October, rising from 70.35 million to 77.27 million, Nielsen/NetRatings reports in its Mega Search Service.

By comparison, Internet searches for images rose 36.6% over the same period to 328.28 million; searches for local community and business information rose 19.2% to 177.49 million; and web searches overall rose 12.7% to 4.51 billion, Nielsen said.

Google continued to lead in overall search engine market share, with an October share of 47.7%, followed by Yahoo, 21.8%; MSN, 11.3%; AOL, 7.2%; and Ask Jeeves, 2.6%.
