Visa card online buying rises 28.3% year-over-year for week ending Nov. 20

E-commerce spending on Visa branded payment cards in the U.S. rose 28.3% year-over-year to $2.5 billion for the week ending Nov. 20, according to Visa U.S.A.’s Holiday SpendTrak report.

 

E-commerce spending on Visa branded payment cards in the U.S. rose 28.3% year-over-year to $2.5 billion for the week ending Nov. 20, according to Visa U.S.A.’s Holiday SpendTrak report. Visa processed 30.5 million online transactions, up 22.5% from the same period in 2004. The average ticket was $82.85.

Online purchases accounted for about 11% of the $22.6 billion in spending on all Visa cards for the week and about 8% of total transactions of 405.6 million. The average ticket for all spending on Visa cards was $55.78.
