Online buying on Visa cards totals $2.4 billion for week ending Nov. 13

E-commerce spending on Visa branded payment cards in the U.S. rose 23.4% year-over-year to $2.4 billion for the week ending Nov. 13, according to Visa U.S.A.’s Holiday SpendTrak report.

E-commerce spending on Visa branded payment cards in the U.S. rose 23.4% year-over-year to $2.4 billion for the week ending Nov. 13, according to Visa U.S.A.’s Holiday SpendTrak report. Visa processed 28.5 million transactions, up 17.6% from the same period in 2004. The average ticket was $82.76.

Online purchases accounted for about 10% of the $23.3 billion in spending on Visa cards for the week and about 7% of total transactions for 407.1 million, Visa said. The average ticket for all spending on Visa cards was $57.30.
