TradeStone Software Inc., a provider of web-based procurement software for retailers, has appointed as president Joe Dugan, former director of Oracle Corp.’s retail products markets.

Dugan, who reports to CEO Sue Welch, will spearhead all business development initiatives while assembling a sales and marketing team, TradeStone said.

“Joe has the remarkable ability to kick-start major initiatives just as he joins an organization, and we`re confident he`ll do that here at TradeStone,” said Welch, who formerly worked with Dugan at retail software company QRS, which is now part of Inovis International Inc. “He has a proven track record within the software industry and has fine tuned his business development talents at many high profile companies including Cambridge Technology Group, Oracle, Answerthink, World Commerce Online and Vizional Technologies."

Dugan most recently served as managing director of supply chain solutions at Answerthink Consulting. Prior to Answerthink, he was a senior vice president of Oracle, CEO and president at Vizional Technologies, and president, CEO and director of World Commerce Online.

TradeStone’s retail clients include American Eagle Outfitters Inc., Federated Department Stores Inc. and The Children’s Place Retail Stores Inc.
