In a move that gives its customers another reason to keep coming back to its web site, TV and web retailer QVC Inc. is now letting customers make online payments for QVC’s QCard private label credit card.

“A lot of customers were asking for the ability to pay their QCard bill online,” says Mark Tabak, vice president of administration. “And to draw people back to the site for any reason is good.” QVC is No. 15 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites.

To offer the online credit card payment service, QVC has gone back to its former credit card partner, GE Consumer Finance. Consumers with a QCard credit card can now log onto QVC.com to make a payment on their card balance, Tabak says. The actual payment is actually made on GE Consumer Finance’s web site, which is linked to QVC.com.

QVC had used GE for its private label credit card program from 1990 to 2001, then switched to Household Finance. It decided to return to GE after determining that it offered the best online bill payment service, Tabak says.
