Jeremy Sacker, former director of global sourcing operations for Best Buy Co. Inc., has joined Eqos, which provides a web-based supplier management system for retailers, as vice president for North America.

Sacker led the expansion of Best Buy’s private label business to over 300 SKUs in two years using a web-based portal created by Eqos, which enabled Best Buy buyers in the US to communicate efficiently with Best Buy’s main overseas buying office in Shanghai, China.

“Organizations who source globally will recognize that Eqos’ capabilities can underpin their expansion and minimize the risk factor,” Sacker said. “I am extremely impressed with the flexibility of the Eqos system which can be deployed across a broad range of supplier management processes, including global and local sourcing, order and logistics management, promotional event management and supplier performance.”

UK-based Eqos’ clients include supermarket chains Sainsbury’s, department store group Debenhams, DIY retailer Wickes and entertainment retailer Virgin.
