Double-digit increase in visits at 8 of the top 10 home and garden sites

Eight of the top 10 online home and garden sites experienced double-digit growth in visits in June, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. DIY Network had the largest increase, rising 69% to 3.26 million from 1.93 million a year earlier.

Northerntool.com ranked second, with a 46% increase to 1.4 million from 960,000 visits a year earlier, followed by Lowe’s, up 42% to 6.93 million from 4.87 million; the Home Depot, up 37% to 9.5 million from 6.9 million; HGTV, up 26% to 4.8 million from 3.8 million; Linens ‘n Things, up 17% to 1.55 million from 1.33 million; GardenWeb, up 11% to 1.45 million from 1.31 million; and eBay Home, up 10% to 10.41 million from 9.5 million.

EBay Home recorded the most traffic, followed by The Home Depot, Lowe’s, HGTV, eBay Crafts (3.3 million visits), DIY Network, Pottery Barn (2.5 million visits), Linens ‘n Things, GardenWeb, and northerntool.com.

In the top 10 sites ranked by time per visit in June, BrylaneHome led with 19 minutes, 12 seconds; followed by ltdcommodities.com, 18 minutes; Collections Etc., 13 minutes, 49 seconds; eBay Crafts, 12 minutes, 29 seconds; Harborfreight.com, 11 minutes, 25 seconds; HGTV, 11 minutes, 3 seconds; GE Appliances, 10 minutes, 25 seconds; eBay Home, 9 minutes, 33 seconds; Lowe’s, 8 minutes, 58 seconds; and replacements.com, 7 minutes, 55 seconds.

Also in June, Sears, Roebuck and Co. Craftsman had the most online ad impressions in the consumer goods home and garden category, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance Report. The leading brands and their number of impressions (in millions):
