Online auction company uBid hires a new chief marketing officer

Chicago-based online auction provider uBid Inc. has hired Tony Priore to fill the newly created position of chief marketing officer. His responsibilities will include developing uBid’s consumer and merchant markets.

Chicago-based online auction provider uBid Inc. has hired Tony Priore to fill the newly created position of chief marketing officer. His responsibilities will include developing uBid’s consumer and merchant markets.

Priore’s background includes interactive, direct/database and brand marketing with including Leo Burnett, Experian, Peapod, Citicorp Diners Club, Rewards Network, DDB and Yesmail. He is co-author of the book Email Marketing, Using Email to Reach Your Target Audience & Build Customer Relationships.

UBid, formerly owned by CMGi, is a member of Petters Group Worldwide. It specializes in selling merchandise at below wholesale prices. IT reports more than 5 million registered users. The Petters Group owns consumer brands and retail operations including Fingerhut Direct and Polaroid.
