Shopping.com Ltd., an online comparison shopping service, appointed Ignacio Fanlo, its chief revenue officer since 2003, to fill the new position of president of worldwide field operations to support international growth, the company said.

“Iggy has played a pivotal role in building the foundation of our international platform-a single, global catalog that, for the first time ever, will allow simple, transparent cross-border commerce,” said chairman and CEO Dan Ciporin. “That vision and his commitment to it are reflected in the rapid progress we’ve made in Europe to date.” ,

Lorrie Norrington, a member of Shopping.com’s board who will take over the CEO position on June 1, said Fanlo’s appointment represents a benchmark in the online company’s growth track. “Online comparison shopping has gone from a coarse tool to a highly structured and personalized resource that is instrumental to the way millions of people now buy products on the web," Norrington said. "With Shopping.com passing the $100 million revenue mark, it was time to put all our growth initiatives under the guidance of a single individual. I can`t imagine anyone better equipped for the challenge than Iggy."

Fanlo, who joined Shopping.com in 1999, is a former managing director with investment firm Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

Ciporin will remain as chairman. Norrington is a former executive vice president and member of the office of the CEO of financial software company Intuit Inc. and a long-time executive of GE, where she held senior management positions in information technology, financial services and other areas.
