Online retail sales up 12% for week ending March 27

Online sales were up 12% for the week ending March 27 over the corresponding week a year ago, reaching $1.24 billion from $1.1 billion, comScore Networks Inc. reports.

By comparison, total retail sales for the week ending March 26 were up 24.2% from the same week a year ago, reports ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate. That week this year was the pre-Easter week, which fell two weeks earlier than last year.

Online travel sales for week ending March 27 were up 18% to $1.12 billion from $954 million in the corresponding week a year ago, comScore reports.
