Monica Luechtefeld takes on new responsibilities at Office Depot

Monica Luechtefeld has been named executive vice president, business development and information technology for Office Depot Inc. Luechtefeld has been in charge of Office Depot’s e-commerce operation.

 

Monica Luechtefeld has been named executive vice president, business development and information technology for Office Depot Inc. Luechtefeld will remain in charge of Office Depot’s e-commerce operation, the third largest in the U.S., according to Internet Retailer’s Top 300 Guide to Online Retailers. Office Depot’s chief information officer and the company corporate development operation will report to Luechtefeld. Luechtefeld is also a member of Internet Retailer’s Editorial Board of Advisers.

Office Depot named Tim Toews as senior vice president and CIO. Toews is long-time employee of the company who has worked in both domestic and international IT, including several years as CIO in Europe.

Office Depot also has named Charles E. Brown president, international. He will oversee for all operations outside of North America. Brown has been Office Depot’s CFO since 2001. He joined the company as controller in 1998.

In addition, Office Depot has created the position of president, North American Retail, and is conducting a search for a retail executive to assume this responsibility, working with recruiters Heidrick & Struggles.
