Furniture.com will provide Leon’s Furniture Ltd., a Canadian retailer of high quality, brand name home furniture, appliances and electronics, exclusive Canadian rights to Furniture.com`s web address and online sales and customer service technology platform, the company announced today.

Furniture.com presents products and information and processes online transactions for U.S. furniture chains Levitz, Seaman’s, and Harlem Furniture. Consumers view 4 million items per day and add $15 million in merchandise to their online shopping carts each week at Furniture.com.

The agreement with Leon`s takes Furniture.com into an international market for the first time and moves the company into two additional retail categories: appliances and electronics. Furniture.com will also plans to develop and power Leon`s own e-commerce site and provide Leon`s with a corporate intranet and web-based applications for operating its chain of retail stores, a Furniture.com spokesman says. He adds that it hasn`t been determined whether Leon`s will continue to use its existing URL, Leons.com, or create one for its new e-commerce site.

Leon’s Furniture has annual sales of more than $650 million (Canadian) and more than 55 locations.
