eBags sales last week nearly double year-to-year

Sales at eBags.com nearly doubled year-over-year for the 7-day period ended Dec. 21, rising 98%, as shoppers purchased last-minute gift items like handbags and hydration backpacks, senior vice president Peter Cobb says.

“Although gains are across the board in all categories, last-minute gift items have driven the majority of the growth,” Cobb says. To support last-minute buying, eBags has been offering a free upgrade to UPS 2-day air shipment on several products. It also offers free ground shipping on orders of over $25.

The most popular categories this holiday shopping season have been laptop cases, backpacks, hydration backpacks and handbags, Cobb says.
