eBay leads in traffic to computer and consumer electronics sites

EBay led in the number of unique visitors to multi-category retail computer and consumer electronics sites for the week ended Sept. 5, with 1.79 million unique visitors, 21% more than second-ranked Best Buy with 1.48 million, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.

CircuitCity.com ranked third, with 691,000 visitors, followed by Sony Electronics (SonyStyle.com), 662,000; Mozilla.org, 463,000; Sony.com, 402,000; TigerDirect.com, 334,000; OSDN, 327,000; and CompUSA.com, 275,000.

CircuitCity.com led in of the average length of visit, with 11 minutes, 51 seconds; followed by TigerDirect.com, 9 minutes; BestBuy.com, 7 minutes, 23 seconds; eBay Electronics, 6 minutes, 51 seconds; Sony.com, 5 minutes, 31 seconds; Sony Electronics, 5 minutes, 3 seconds; CompUSA.com, 4 minutes, 32 seconds; Mozilla.org, 4 minutes, 18 seconds; and OSDN, 2 minutes, 37 seconds.

By age, shoppers 45+ accounted for the largest number of unique visitors, with 8.63 million, followed by 35-49, with 6.8 million and 55+, with 4.17 million.

Segmented by income groups, shoppers with household incomes of $25,000 - $49,999 accounted for the largest number of visitors, with 5.74 million, followed by $50,000 - $74,999, with 5.67 million, and $75,000 - $99,999, with 3.86 million.

Also for the week ended Sept. 5, Netflix Inc. garnered the largest number of online advertising impressions, with 376.07 million, among retail goods and services advertisers, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance report.
