Online retail spending up 13% for week ending Aug. 22

Online consumer retail spending grew 13% for the week ending Aug. 22, reaching $1.16 billion from $1.02 billion in the corresponding week a year earlier, comScore Networks Inc. reports.

Online consumer retail spending grew 13% for the week ending Aug. 22, reaching $1.16 billion from $1.02 billion in the corresponding week a year earlier, comScore Networks Inc. reports.

Total retail spending for the week ending Aug. 21 was up 11.2% from the same week a year ago, according to ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate.

Online travel spending was up 24% for the week ending Aug. 22 to $928 million from $751 million a year ago, comScore reports.
