Amazon reduces its minimum order for free shipping in the U.K.

U.K. shoppers can get free Super Saver shipping at Amazon.co.uk when they spend £19, down from £25. Free Super Saver delivery takes three to five days longer than standard delivery.

Amazon.com Inc. has lowered its threshold for free shipping in the U.K. Starting last Wednesday, U.K. shoppers can get free Super Saver shipping at Amazon.co.uk when they spend £19, down from £25. A year ago, Amazon reduced its free shipping minimum order from £39 to £25.

As it has done in the U.S., Amazon says the U.K. offer is for an indefinite duration, but indicates that it is a year-round, permanent offer.

"We have been delighted with the customer response to our free delivery option", said Robin Terrell, managing director of Amazon.co.uk. "Customer adoption has been strong in the UK."

Free Super Saver delivery takes three to five days longer than standard delivery.
