Ritz continues its site acquisition strategy with eAngler.com

Fishing enthusiasts’ site eAngler.com, a former competitor of Ritz Interactive, marks the 10th e-commerce site Ritz has either acquired or begun to operate for a partner in the last three years, Ritz said today. Ritz now operates 22 sites.

Ritz Interactive Inc. has acquired a former competitor, fishing enthusiasts’ site eAngler.com, the 10th e-commerce site Ritz has either acquired or begun to operate for a partner in the last three years, Ritz said today. Ritz now operates 22 e-commerce web sites, including six related to marine activities.

EAngler, using the e-commerce platform of Ritz’s flagship marine site, BoatersWorld.com, will offer more than 30,000 fishing and boating products as well as informational content on fishing techniques and equipment, Ritz said.

Ritz, which started in the business of offering photography products at RitzCamera.com, has expanded its online markets to include photographic prints at BigPrintGallery.com, food sauces at InsanitySauce.com, and golfing equipment at ShopatShark.com, a site tied to golfer Greg Norman.

Ritz, No. 61 in the Internet Retailer Top 300 Guide to online retailers. says it expects to continue seeking new e-commerce properties. “If the business principles are right and a web site looks to be a promising deal, we’ll consider it,” a spokesman says. “We’re always looking to expand our e-commerce network.”
