General Availability of New Release Helps Retailers and Suppliers Synchronize Data
Richmond, CA – April 15, 2004 - QRS Corporation (Nasdaq: QRSI) announced today the general availability of QRS Catalogue™ Release 4.0. QRS Catalogue is the North American retail industry’s leading product data synchronization application with over 100 million items. Its new functionality includes expanded support for the latest global standards to help retailers and suppliers improve communications with their global trading communities.
QRS Catalogue 4.0 is the first generally available release of the product that is fully compliant with UCCnet™ services. As announced in February 2004, QRS Catalogue received UCC Solution Partner Program UCCnet Synchronization Suite 2.2.1 certification. The release features a new product module, QRS GDSNconnector™, which enables communications with the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). Using QRS GDSNconnector, customers can register items with the UCCnet registry and publish items to retailers with UCCnet synchronization services.
Over a dozen QRS customers are currently in the implementation phase for QRS Catalogue Release 4.0. The volume of data for this first group of customers equals almost 250,000 items. This volume signals a significant increase to the potential amount of data available via UCCnet services.
QRS Catalogue Release 4.0 also has expanded attribute support - now totaling 550 - making it compliant with EAN.UCC System standards for trade item data. With its high level of attribute support and extensive data validation capabilities, QRS Catalogue is suitable for a wide range of industry sectors within the retail industry, including general merchandise and apparel, do-it-yourself, grocery, health and beauty, and hardlines.
QRS also offers a suite of enablement and support services to ensure QRS Catalogue customers’ data integrity and readiness to join the GDSN.
“Emerging global standards promise to change the way trading partners communicate - and many of our customers are preparing for the impact that these standards will have on their business,” said Liz Fetter, QRS President and CEO. “Recently achieving the milestone of 100 million items in QRS Catalogue reflects that thousands of retail customers depend on us every day to synchronize critical product information. With this new release of QRS Catalogue, QRS continues to deliver proven solutions that reliably help our customers address critical business issues.”
