St. Paul, MN-based Bellacor, online retailer of home furnishings, has named Glen Schwickerath director of technology. He will oversee Bellacor’s information technology operation with the goal of better integrating vendors’ inventory data with Bellacor’s web site so the retailer can provide real-time information to customers when orders are placed, says Jan Andersen, president and CEO of Bellacor.

“System failures are not acceptable in this business,” said Schwickerath. “Consumers have too many choices and too little time to deal with delays. It’s my job to make sure all systems are running smoothly and the proper technology is in place to meet our customers’ needs.”

Before joining Bellacor, Schwickerath was applications development manager at Chiquita Processed Foods where he led a 12-person software development team responsible for the manufacturing, financials, EDI, data warehouse, reporting and forecasting. Schwickerath also has been senior database administrator at Digi International and senior systems analyst for Valspar Corp. He also held technical positions at Informix Software and AT&T; Network Services.
