Williams-Sonoma’s 2003 web sales rise 66% over previous year

With strong sales in its Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and PBTeen brands, Williams-Sonoma Inc. reported a 66.1% increase in web sales for fiscal year 2003 to $332.9 million.

With strong sales in its Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and PBTeen brands, Williams-Sonoma Inc. today reported a 66.1% increase in web sales for fiscal year 2003 which ended Feb. 1. Williams-Sonoma’s web sales reached of $332.9 million vs. $200.4 million in the prior year. Full-year total sales rose 14% year-over-year to $1.6 billion from $1.4 billion. Full-year comp store sales rose 4%.

Web sales accounted for 21% of all sales vs. 14.3% a year ago.

Q4 web sales experienced even stronger growth at 74% over Q4 ’02 to $120.9 million from $69.5 million. Total sales grew 12.2%. Q4 comp store sales rose 4.1%.

Q4 web sales accounted for 19.3% of total net sales of $625.1 million, up from 12.4% of total sales of $557.1 million in the year-earlier period.
