Valentine’s Day gives a 400%+ boost to Proflowers.com’s February traffic

Proflowers.com’s unique visitors were up 419% to 3.48 million in February from 671,000 in January, making it the fastest growing web site in February, comScore reports.

Valentine’s Day was definitely good to two major online flower sellers. Proflowers.com topped all web sites with the sharpest rate of growth in unique visitors from January to February, comScore Networks Inc. reports. Proflowers.com’s unique visitors were up 419% to 3.48 million in February from 671,000 in January. Fifth largest growth was at 1-800-flowers.com, which hosted 2.84 million unique visitors, up 67% from January.

Valentines Day-related retailers as a whole experienced good traffic growth from January to February, with traffic to the Jewelry/Luxury Goods/Accessories category up 14% from January, Flowers/Gifts/Greetings category up 13% and e-cards up 5%. Taxes and politics were much on web users’ minds, with unique visitors to those categories up 47% and 14% respectively.
