Web performance monitoring service AlertSite is expanding its monitoring scope geographically with the addition of New York City to its global network of monitoring locations. The Boca Raton, Fla.-based company, which provides hosted web site, server, transaction and application performance monitoring services, says it’s on track to grow from its current 11 locations to 15-20 locations globally by the end of the year.

“This new point of presence further extends our reach and enhances the abilities of our customers to respond accurately to potential performance problems from specific geographic locations,” says Ken Gross, president.

The new location joins the company’s existing monitoring locations in Florida, Dallas, Maryland, California, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Singapore, Australia and Chicago. Ken Godskind, vice president of marketing, says the purpose of monitoring site performance from multiple locations is to identify when and where performance issues are localized, for site operators that want that information.
