Walmart.com Boosts Online Performance & Availability, Reduces Application Recovery Time and Streamlines Problem Resolution Efforts

SANTA CLARA, CALIF - February 11, 2004 -- ProactiveNet Inc., the technology leader in application performance measurement and analysis solutions, today announced that Walmart.com, the Web site of the world`s largest retailer, has expanded its use of ProactiveNet`s namesake product. ProactiveNet`s patented data correlation and analysis technology enable IT operations groups to rapidly measure, analyze and visualize performance metrics across heterogeneous network devices across the end-to-end application infrastructure.

Initially deployed in 2001, ProactiveNet was selected by Walmart.com to help improve the performance and availability of its customer-facing Web site by providing real-time monitoring and a reduction in problem resolution times. During that first holiday season, ProactiveNet`s value became apparent.

"An e-tailer cannot afford for its site to be performing at anything less than maximum responsiveness," said Dan Peterson, director of site operations and engineering at Walmart.com. "Deploying ProactiveNet has significantly improved site operations productivity. We have managed to streamline our problem resolution efforts and drastically reduce our mean-time-to-recovery. And, ProactiveNet`s adaptive baselining technology has enabled us to catch problems early, before they can impact performance."

Since Walmart.com`s initial deployment, the company has expanded its use of ProactiveNet to cover additional systems and business units. In 2002, Walmart.com`s logistics experts used ProactiveNet`s custom monitors to track and analyze the flow of transaction information over the company`s partner network, which supports a large number of suppliers. ProactiveNet also plays an important role in helping Walmart.com test applications prior to release in a production environment. Performance profiling and testing enables the team to gain an accurate portrayal of how existing capacity will handle new online service launches.

"As illustrated by Walmart.com, ProactiveNet is ideally suited to meet the needs of the world`s most demanding e-commerce sites," said Ajay Singh, president and CEO of ProactiveNet. "We`re very proud the company leverages our technology to support new projects, and continues to derive value from our solution."
