eBay takes commanding lead in visits to home-and-garden sites

eBay led all online retailers in the number of unique visitors to home-and-garden sites for the week ended Dec. 21, surpassing second-ranked Home Depot by more than three times, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.

eBay Inc.’s eBay.com led all online retailers in the number of unique visitors to home-and-garden sites for the week ended Dec. 21, with 2.6 million, surpassing by more than three times second-ranked The Home Depot’s HomeDepot.com, which had 695,000, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.

 

Ranked third was Lowe’s Companies Inc.’s Lowes.com, with 637,000 visitors, followed by Home & Garden Television’s HGTV.com, with 472,000, and the Home & Real Estate section of AOL.com, with 427,000.

 

For the same week, the Norelco brand of Royal Philips Electronics garnered the most online advertising impressions, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance report.

 

Following are the top 10 companies/brands with their respective number of impressions as compiled by AdRelevance:
Royal Philips Electronics/Norelco – 5.9 million;
Corning Inc./Steuben Glass – 4.1 million;
The Clorox Co./Glad – 3.1 million;
Tupperware Corp./Tupperware – 1.5 million;
Sancor Industries/Envirolet – 940,000;
The Procter & Gamble Co./Mr. Clean – 749,000;
A.A.A. Vacuum Cleaners/Dyson – 749,000;
Brown-Forman Corp./Lenox – 538,000;
The Procter & Gamble Co./Tide – 528,000;
American Standard Companies Inc./Trane – 515,000.
