Dallas, Texas, Dec. 15, 2003 – EXE Technologies® Inc. (Nasdaq: EXEE), a global leader in supply chain execution business solutions, today announced the release of an upgrade to its EXceed™ 2000 warehouse management system (WMS), a high performance system designed for high volume fulfillment operations involving large numbers of discrete products.
The new Version 5.4 provides advanced fulfillment center management functionality, including tasks ranging from order management to inventory receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, pallet building, shipping, labor control, task management and radio frequency (RF) support.
"We’ve enhanced this industry-leading solution to make it the ideal solution for high volume retail and wholesale warehouse operations," said Joe Cowan, EXE president and CEO. "This new EXceed 2000 system enables users to enhance revenues in several ways. It increases end user customer satisfaction through its many value-added services. Its advanced labor and workload management solutions help reduce operating costs significantly. Its refined management of warehouse inventory levels and greater product throughput help reduce both working and fixed capital requirements."
EXceed 2000 Version 5.4 provides detailed enhancements to many WMS functions. For example, its Receiving module now allows a single user to verify receipts for multiple warehouses simultaneously, which eliminates the need for supervisory interaction. Its Shipping module displays Balance-on-Hand and Net Balance-on-Hand information as a customer order is being created. This information provides the user with visibility of mark-outs that may occur on subsequent orders if the new order is processed first. It allows facilities to batch and sequence customer orders by release date and time rather than route and stop if desired. Its RF Selection component is now system directed rather than selector directed. It also provides multiple fine-tuned enhancements to voice selection, including the ability to "Go Back" for shorted items on the current assignment if replenishment has occurred at the location.
"EXE has always been a leader in providing world-class performance tracking capabilities within their WMS solutions, and this EXceed 2000 version includes the ability to refine the standard time for selection assignments based on the speed of the particular equipment used to complete the assignment, track multiple pieces and types of equipment for a single user, and limit the amount of time applied to tasks that involve multiple pallets. These enhancements deliver improved performance tracking ability," Cowan noted. "In addition, this version includes expanded ‘case cost’ fields to accommodate tracking the value of inventory in multiple countries."
The new EXceed 2000 Version 5.4 system is already shipping to EXE customers worldwide.
