LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ December 5, 2003 – UCCnet, an organization that provides product registry and data synchronization services in accordance with EAN.UCC global standards, announced today that H-E-B, one of the largest, independently owned food-retailing companies in the United States, has joined UCCnet and plans to implement the UCCnet GLOBALregistry service. H-E-B joins nearly 2,000 other supply and demand side trading partners as members of the UCCnet community.
The UCCnet GLOBALregistry service will allow H-E-B to improve the accuracy of its supply chain product and location information by enabling it to update product information in a timelier manner with its North American and international suppliers. UCCnet services enable suppliers and their retail partners to improve scanning accuracy and reduce costly administrative errors in invoice pricing, purchase orders, and product delivery. In addition, companies will be able to increase the speed of getting new products to market and facilitate the exchange of information regarding changes to existing items. Synchronized data in a standard format also provides a solid foundation for realizing the true cost savings of more advanced e-commerce tools such as scan-based trading and Collaborative Planning Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR®).
