HomeDepot.com leads home and garden shoppers, Hitwise reports

HomeDepot.com accounted for 8.9% of all visits to online home and garden sites for the week ending May 3, reports Hitwise, an Internet use monitoring company. A close second is Lowes.com at 8.3%.

HomeDepot.com accounted for 8.9% of all visits to online home and garden sites for the week ending May 3, reports Hitwise, an Internet use monitoring company. A close second is Lowes.com at 8.3%.

An indication that web consumers are actively shopping around comes from analysis of where visitors come from to visit HomeDepot.com: 9.4% come from Lowes.com, 2.69% from Sears.com, 1.9% from WalMart.com and 1% from Target.com.

Hitwise reports that the 10 leading home and garden sites and their share of all home and garden visitors: Home Depot: 8.91%
Lowe’s: 8.31%
All Posters: 5.62%
AHA Membership: 3.7%
Bed, Bath & Beyond: 3.46%
Complete Homes: 3.26%
Great USA Flags: 2.98%
Better Homes & Gardens: 2.82%
Martha Stewart: 2.72%
Pottery Barn: 2.39%

Martha Stewart kept visitors the longest at 9 minutes 38 seconds. Next was Lowe’s at 8 minutes and 42 seconds, then Bed, Bath & Beyond at 8 minutes 7 seconds.
