AUSTIN, Texas--May 6, 2003-- ClearCommerce Corporation, the leading provider of risk management and payment processing software for online retail, today announced the availability of ClearCommerce Engine 5.2, the first solution to include merchant-configurable velocity checks with its arsenal of fraud detection technologies, adding expanded support for point-of-sale payment transactions, and improvements to the XML integration component.

This most recent update to the company`s Risk Management software introduces merchant-configurable velocity checks. Configurable velocity checks provide merchants the ability to screen for any captured data field, for example credit card number, email address, IP address, or an industry specific extended field, to identify repeat occurrences across a series of order transactions over time. When combined with the patent-pending FraudShield(tm) rules engine, velocity checks provide an effective tool for recognizing patterns that are indicative of fraud.
ClearCommerce Engine 5.2 also includes support for point-of-sale payment transactions, Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode payer authentication programs with an expanded network of payment processors as well as a redesigned XML Input Component to simplify integration with front-end and back-end systems. The software suite provides a multi-channel payment and risk management platform that enables merchants seeking to integrate retail point-of-sale and online transaction processing to consolidate reporting and greatly reduce costs associated with running parallel systems for both online and offline businesses.
