New application solution optimizes sourcing decisions and extends visibility

ATLANTA, GA (February 11, 2003)-Logility (NASDAQ: LGTY), a leading supplier of collaborative solutions to optimize the supply chain, today announced the availability of Voyager Global Sourcing Management™ to improve Brand Owner margins. Voyager Global Sourcing Management gives Brand Owners, such as retailers and manufacturers of private label and branded merchandise, the ability to reduce total supply chain costs, optimize sourcing decisions, extend visibility into offshore production, monitor the movement of goods, and improve the flow of information with supply-side trading partners.

Companies are gaining a competitive advantage by working with suppliers around the world for materials, manufacturing and logistics services to deliver products to market more quickly and cost-effectively. Voyager Global Sourcing Management streamlines and automates the entire strategic sourcing process – from proposal management and product specification package delivery, to bid analysis and supplier performance management, through production management, quality monitoring and supplier shipment tracking.

“Brand Owners are really looking for the freedom to source and manufacture anywhere in the world to gain a competitive advantage without compromising quality or product availability,” stated Mike Edenfield, Logility President and CEO. “Voyager Global Sourcing Management streamlines and automates the entire strategic sourcing process through collaboration and exception-based management of key sourcing and supply chain events.”

According to an article by Larry Lapide, vice president of supply chain services at AMR Research, published in the February 7, 2003 AMR Research Alert, “This extends Logility’s already broad collaborative Supply Chain Management (SCM) suite by adding sourcing functionality. The extended suite now has functionality to support brand owners as they plan, source, and track globally sourced products – from quotes and bids to the planning, receipt, and eventual customer delivery of products.”

“For retailers and manufacturers of private label and branded merchandise, the convergence of strategic sourcing of goods for resale with supply chain management promises increased profits with reduced inventory investments,” commented Paula Rosenblum, in the AMR Research report “Strategic Sourcing Brings Stunning Returns to Retailers,” December 2002. “Conservative return on investment (ROI) from supplier bidding events alone translates into 10% to 15% gross margin improvements.”

“Logility is working with a number of leading Brand Owners to streamline their strategic sourcing and supply chain planning operations into an optimized global supply chain process,” continued Edenfield. “Logility has been providing innovative supply chain solutions for over 30 years and introduced the industry’s first collaborative supply chain planning solution in 1996. Voyager Global Sourcing Management is a natural extension to the Logility Voyager Solutions suite and provides the ability for Brand Owners to further improve their bottom lines.”

Available today, Voyager Global Sourcing Management is part of the Logility Voyager Solution™ suite and includes:
• Value Chain Designer™ provides visibility into supply chain networks to analyze capital expenditure plans, assess risk strategies and optimize global network operations to clearly evaluate strategic sourcing options.
• Global Sourcing automates the sourcing process from proposal management and product specification package delivery to supplier bid analysis, selection and performance management via the Internet.
• Production Visibility utilizes collaborative time and action calendars to monitor supplier production and quality, track milestone deliverables and provide exception-based management of global sourcing initiatives.
• Supplier Logistics provides Advanced Ship Notice (ASN) and tracks supplier shipments from global manufacturing locations to provide greater visibility of inbound logistics and product availability.
