January 23, 2003 --SAN JOSE, CA-NetIQ Corporation (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems Management, Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, today announced the kick-off of its regional WebTrends® User Groups. The goal for the User Groups is to facilitate peer-to-peer interaction, enabling customers to share best practices in Web analytics to improve and maximize the success of their Web initiatives.
Standard Insurance Company is looking forward to hosting one of the User Groups. "Our objective is to facilitate a forum where companies can learn and share best practices in Web analytics to help each other improve business results," said Roger Edwards, senior systems analyst, Standard Insurance Company. "We will be discussing effective Web metrics that are commonly used and providing a demonstration of the Web metrics we use.
This week, the User Group program officially launched in Seattle, Wash. Additional meetings will follow in Portland, Ore., Philadelphia, Pa., New York, N.Y., Boston, MA, San Francisco, CA, Ottawa, ON and St. Petersburg, Fla.
Participating customers will be able to share Web analytics successes and challenges with other users and learn how others are using Web analytics to improve their business performance. Each User Group is hosted by a WebTrends customer and the agenda for the meetings will be solely determined by participating customers based on what they want to gain from each others` experiences with the software and services.
"As the market leader, we believe that education is strategic to advancing the discipline of Web analytics. As business users are increasingly turning to Web analysis to drive smarter actions to improve their business and Web presence, the interest is there and timing is right to launch these peer-to-peer forums. This builds on our other educational and customer feedback events such as our worldwide Web analytics seminars, WebResults, our educational online newsletter, and biannual Customer Advisory Board meetings to solicit feedback on our products and future strategy," said Dan Meub, senior vice president and general manager of the WebTrends Business Unit at NetIQ. "We are fortunate to have a large WebTrends customer base comprised of people who are passionate about their usage of Web analytics and want to meet regularly to share best practices and strategies with others."
As customer interest increases, additional cities will be added throughout 2003. For more information about the WebTrends User Groups-to initiate your own or to register for a User Group in your area-please visit http://www.netiq.com/events/seminars/wtusergroup/default.asp.
