Do-It-Yourself Email Marketer Takes a Stand Against Spam
WALTHAM, Mass. – November 11, 2002 – Roving Software, leading provider of email marketing tools and services, today announced the release of Constant Contact 6.0, an upgraded version of its Do-It-Yourself Email Marketing(TM) service that includes SafeUnsubscribe, a branded online mark of assurance for both Constant Contact users, and recipients of emails delivered by Constant Contact.
Constant Contact’s SafeUnsubscribe guarantees the permanent removal of a subscriber’s email address when they select the unsubscribe link. The SafeUnsubscribe mark builds trust and confidence in the permission-based email marketing practices of Constant Contact and its users, and ensures that all emails sent through Constant Contact remain permission based.
Jupiter Media Metrix, a research firm, predicts that the number of unwanted emails will increase from 140 billion in 2001 to more than 845 billion messages, or 3,900 per user within the next five years.

Other new features of Constant Contact 6.0 include an updated tab interface with colorized icons and one-click navigation for enhanced usability. The new home page displays pertinent campaign and subscriber statistics, a listing of the user’s most recent campaigns and reports, and quick links for frequently used features.
