PFSweb to Handle CRM Activities for DuPont Pilot Project
PLANO, Texas, Oct 21, 2002 -- PFSweb, Inc. (Nasdaq/SmallCap:PFSW), a leading provider of business process solutions, announced today it has been selected by DuPont Fluoroproducts to provide customer service and order fulfillment activities for a DuPont Fluoroproducts pilot project creating the business`first online consumer (B2C) store.
The pilot project, which went live on the website Teflon.com on October 17, offers branded products made with DuPont(TM) Teflon(R) from various manufacturers and brand licensees. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
`We are extremely pleased to be retained by the 70th largest company in the world (Fortune Magazine) to support its e-commerce strategies,`said Mark C. Layton, Senior Partner and Chief Executive Officer of PFSweb. `This project adds DuPont to PFSWeb`s list of Fortune 500 and Global 1,000 clients that includes IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, NokiaUSA.com, Smithsonian Institution, the U.S. Mint, Xerox and other brand name firms.`
`DuPont found it challenging to find a company capable of providing both call center and fulfillment services,`said Gary Spangler, DuPont e-business manager for Teflon.com. `PFSweb, however, did a good job in responding to both our needs and our vision to get this project off the ground.`
According to Spangler, the pilot online store offers a range of products that includes non-stick pancake makers and personal care products. If the pilot project is successful, DuPont could eventually offer a broader range of branded products made with Teflon(R), including non-stick cookware or apparel.
The pilot project will utilize PFSWeb`s Entente Suite(SM) products. Consumer queries, orders and credit card authorizations and verifications will be handled at PFSweb`s state-of-the-art call center at its Plano, Texas headquarters near Dallas. PFSweb`s distribution center in Memphis, TN, will handle product receiving and warehousing, shipments to customers and reverse logistics.
`The best-practice solutions embodied in our Entente Suite(SM) are flexible and dynamic, yet specific enough to support current and future business initiatives for DuPont Fluoroproducts,`Layton emphasized. `Our team of professionals is eager to provide the integrated, operational services that will enable Teflon.com to meet and exceed its customers`expectations.`
