Gordon Brothers Wholesale names 16-year veteran of textile industry as SVP

Robert Himmel has been appointed senior vice president of Gordon Brothers Wholesale, a division of Gordon Brothers Group that purchases and sells excess consumer goods in partnership with manufacturers and retailers.

Robert Himmel has been appointed senior vice president of Gordon Brothers Wholesale LLC, a division of Gordon Brothers Group LLC that purchases and sells excess consumer goods in partnership with manufacturers and retailers.

Himmel most recently was president of the Malden Ventures Division of Malden Mills Industries, where he was director of sales and marketing for Malden`s Polartec Brand.

"Robert brings to our wholesale clients a distinguished 16-year career in senior general management, sales and marketing, product development, and trademark brand management in the apparel, textile and consumer products industries," said Michael Frieze, Gordon Brothers` CEO. "His strengths and experience will facilitate our progress as a major buying force in the wholesale marketplace."

Gordon Brothers Wholesale provides services for manufacturers and retailers seeking to sell-through excess consumer goods outside of their existing distribution and selling channels. Gordon Brothers Wholesale uses the financial resources of Gordon Brothers Group to take ownership of overstocks, cancelled orders and other excess inventory and then finds buyers.
