CriticalSites to Integrate Equilibrium MediaRich with Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server to Dynamically Generate, Manage and Deliver Image Assets
SAN RAFAEL, CA.-SEPTEMBER 3, 2002-Equilibrium, a leading provider of rich-media servers for the enterprise and majority-owned operating company of CMGI, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMGI), today announced that Stanley Works (NYSE: “SWK”), a global supplier of tools, doors, and hardware for professional, industrial, and consumer use, has selected Equilibrium® MediaRich™ Image Server to complement and expand the capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint™ Portal Server. The dynamic imaging integration will reduce time and costs for generating, managing and deploying digital assets from a central content repository.
Equilibrium MediaRich is server-based imaging software that automates the production and enables the dynamic delivery visual assets to the Web, print media and smart devices. By integrating MediaRich Image Server with Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, CriticalSites, a leading IT consulting firm, will automate the distribution of image assets, normally stored, retrieved, and distributed through fragmented systems and channels. Specific applications include automated image cropping, zooming, versioning, and dynamic thumbnail creation among others within SharePoint Portal Server. MediaRich Image Server reduces storage, retrieval, and distribution costs and accelerates time-to-market for delivering rich visual content.
“With the help of our systems integrator CriticalSites, we are implementing a cost-effective, rich-media asset management solution with MediaRich and SharePoint Portal Server for our repository of 100,000 plus images,” said David Morgan, Internet Marketing Manager at Stanley Works. “By centralizing our image repository and allowing users to search, locate, and dynamically crop and export image assets in almost any format, we will save on production time, image management and photography costs for both Web and print delivery.”
As a Microsoft Gold Certified independent software vendor, Equilibrium is working with system integrators to provide training and support for implementing MediaRich Image Server with Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, Commerce Server 2002 and Content Management Server.
