Picking up on an increasing demand for digital books, OfficeMax Inc.’s OfficeMax.com is adding an e-book web site to its assortment of business supplies. The site, www.ebooks.officemax.com, features a range of subject categories, including management, finance, and non-business self-help, in e-book formats for desktop computers and handheld devices.

Available titles include "How to Be a Successful Leader," "Building a School Web Site," and "How to Raise a Puppy." Publishers include HarperCollins, Random House, John Wiley & Sons, St. Martin’s Press and AOL Time Warner. OfficeMax is using e-book distribution technology from Overdrive Inc.

Sales of e-books have been increasing at several publishers, according to a study released last month by Open eBook Forum.
