Channel Intelligence, Inc. Sends More Than $500 Million In Customer Leads to Online Retailers Through Channel Buy Links

Company says Channel Buy Links is on target to provide over $1 billion in sales leads from major manufacturers to dealers by year-end.

CELEBRATION, FL (August 27, 2002) - Channel Intelligence, Inc. announced today that they have passed $500,000,000 worth of Channel Buy Links leads sent from their manufacturing client Web sites to online dealers. "It`s a great milestone for us, on our way to $1 billion this year. It`s our version of `Over 100 Million Served,`" says Robert Wight, Chairman and CEO of Channel Intelligence, Inc. "It`s easy to see the power of our clients` brand names when we are currently sending leads from our client`s web sites to their selected dealers at the rate of $500,000 every hour."

Channel Buy Links leads are sent from the clients that are using the service from Channel Intelligence on their web sites. The value of a lead is determined by the price of the product chosen at the destination dealer.

The U.S. Department of Commerce estimates that $33.7 billion was spent on non-travel online purchases in 2001. Yet industry statistics show that shopping cart abandonment rates are as high as 97 percent. Channel Intelligence says that by using Channel Buy Links and following other recommendations, manufacturers can raise sales conversion rates by 4 - 10X and generate an additional $5 billion in incremental sales.

Clients currently using the service include Panasonic, 3Com, Hewlett-Packard, Sharp, Iomega, NETGEAR, Plextor, Adaptec, Benchmark Storage, Cornea Systems, Zoom, Sennheiser, Exabyte and others.

Dealers currently receiving leads from those clients include Insight, CDW, Best Buy, Sears, Circuit City, PC Connection, OneCall, MicroWarehouse, J&R;, ABTElectronics, Sound Center, Buy.com. Crutchfield, Office Depot, Amazon, Staples, CompUSA and many others.

"Leads are the most desired, yet problematic issue in the supply chain," says Bob Segal, eCommerce Principal at Frank Lynn & Associates. "Channel Intelligence`s unique approach really solves the puzzle - for manufacturers, resellers AND the customer."

Channel Buy Links are product-specific links that take consumers from the information-gathering phase on a consumer goods manufacturer`s Website directly to the buy page at dealers who carry the product and have it available in stock. The service is easy to implement for the manufacturer, and requires no action on the part of the retailer to participate.

"The key to making online retailing work has always been making it easy for the customer to complete the sale," adds Wight. "Channel Buy Links fills the gaps in going from the manufacturer to the retailer, and makes it all a single, seamless transaction. The beauty of Channel Buy Links is that with the technology we`ve developed we can implement it quickly regardless of the back end systems at the manufacturers and retailers. And that means they can start getting their share of those $1 billion in sales leads quickly."
