Retek 10 Scalability Continues to Fuel Success in Global Mid-Market
MINNEAPOLIS - August 26, 2002 - Retek Inc. (Nasdaq: RETK) announced today that Hettlage KGAA, a German apparel retailer with over 60 stores in Germany and Austria, has selected Retek 10 solutions to help them improve assortments, merchandising and product allocation. After an extensive evaluation process, Hettlage selected Retek as the best solution to manage critical retail challenges and cited Retek’s capability for rapid implementation. Hettlage will use Retek’s Merchandising and Allocation solutions to establish a new, more flexible merchandising foundation, significantly increasing stock turnover and margins.
"The German retail market is very competitive," said Wolfgang Sassnowski, Managing Director with Hettlage. "We selected Retek 10 to replace our legacy systems and improve our operating performance through Retek’s support of retail best practices and rapid implementation methodology. We believe leveraging Retek 10’s adaptive technology platform will enable Hettlage to implement the solutions quickly and realize a rapid return on investment."
Hettlage will implement Retek’s Merchandise Operations Management solution to coordinate operations and maintain a single, comprehensive source of consistent and accurate data. For example, utilizing Retek’s data warehousing solution, Hettlage will be able to more closely analyze inventory performance and make better decisions about merchandising and markdown management. Combined with Retek’s Allocation solution, Hettlage will be able to leverage detailed merchandising information to execute more efficient product allocation to provide their customers with the right product, at the right place and time, in the right quantities and for the right price. Along with its ability to scale, Retek Allocation also leverages real-time data from the merchandising system in its calculations, enabling the retailer to react quickly to current selling trends.
"Hettlage KGAA is the latest leading retailer to select Retek 10, further demonstrating our momentum in the European market," said Peter Reymers, Managing Director of Sales for Germany, with Retek. "Retailers are demanding solutions which have been proven to deliver solid business results. Retek 10 incorporates retail best practices through a proven, scalable framework that enables retailers to realize a rapid return on investment."
