Sharper Image’s web sales grow sharply in first six months and Q2

Internet sales at Sharper Image Corp. increased 42% in the second quarter vs. Q2 a year ago, the company reported today. Total revenues at the Sharper Image for the second quarter increased 24% from Q2 a year ago, reaching $102.4 million.

Internet sales at Sharper Image Corp. increased 42% in the second quarter vs. Q2 a year ago, the company reported today. The figures reflects merchandise sales and does not include goods sold at Internet auctions. Including auctions, Internet sales increased 23% to $12.2 million from last year`s second quarter $9.9 million.

Total revenues at the Sharper Image for the second quarter increased 24% from Q2 a year ago, reaching $102.4 million from $82.8 million. Store sales were up 20%, with comparable store sales up 5%. Catalog sales grew 33% to $29 million. Net loss for the quarter was $600,000 vs. last year’s Q2 net loss of $3.7 million.

For the first six months, total revenues increased 28% to $195.2 million from $152.6 million. Store sales increased 23% to $108.4 million; comparable store sales increased 9%. Catalog sales increased 45% to $57.8 million and Internet sales, excluding auction sales, increased 39%. Internet sales, including auction sales, increased 21% to $23.7 million. Net loss in the first six months was $900,000.
