SAN DIEGO, July 10, 2002 – FurnishNet today announced that San Diego-based Super Stores of America and Mattress Warehouse of West Virginia have selected FurnishNet to handle electronic transaction exchange with their vendors. By adding a Top 100 retailer and a specialty sleep shop to its user base, FurnishNet is now contracted to manage more than $1.3 billion in annual purchase order (PO) volume for home furnishings retailers.

“By providing a value-driven supply chain solution, we offer a practical and affordable way to improve trading partner relationships and deliver better service to the consumer,” said Ron Sellers, Vice President of Sales for FurnishNet. “Reaching the $1 billion mark in purchase-order volume demonstrates the viability of electronic transaction management, and establishes FurnishNet as the leading provider of electronic data exchange for the industry.”

Super Stores of America, which does business as MOR Furniture and Bedroom Superstores, ranks 58 on Furniture/Today’s survey of the Top 100 retailers in the United States, and was also recognized as the fastest-growing furniture chain in North America. Mattress Warehouse, with 17 stores in West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio, specializes in bedding, sleep-related items, and bedding accessories, and has demonstrated exceptional value and service to its customers. Both retailers will use FurnishNet’s Transaction Management solution to help streamline communication with their vendors, reduce errors, and improve customer service.

FurnishNet’s Transaction Management solution speeds the accurate transmission of purchase orders, purchase order acknowledgements, advance ship notices, and invoices. By integrating web applications, electronic data interchange (EDI), XML, and faxed-based processes into a unique “Any-to-Any” exchange, FurnishNet is able to translate the information into the appropriate format for the immediate electronic flow of information between business partners of any size, regardless of the corporate system they are using.
