DODGEVILLE, WI, June 4, 2002-- Lands` End`s newly formed Licensing division and Major League Baseball Properties have reached a licensing agreement to produce an exclusive line of high quality, affordably priced licensed apparel.
Dubbed the Major League Baseball Collection, the line originates from a desire to address requests from Lands` End`s current customers. It also allows Lands` End to reach a new customer base in baseball fans, and broadens the already strong appeal of Lands` End`s most popular products by being introduced onto Major League Baseball Properties` licensed apparel roster. All products will be custom embroidered within 48 hours of placing an order by state of the art machinery currently serving Lands` End`s business-to-business customers. The collection is now available through the Lands` End catalog and website, http//www.landsend.com .
Many of Lands` End`s most popular men`s, women`s and kid`s products, including mesh polo shirts, sweatshirts, baseball caps, outerwear, oxford cloth dress shirts, denim shirts and turtlenecks will be sold with embroidered logos of all 30 Clubs, as well as All-Star Game and World Series logos through 2004.
"We`re very excited to team with Major League Baseball Properties," said Lands` End Licensing Director, John Maher. "This agreement is another step in adding to our already successful licensing business and helps to raise the profile of Lands` End in this marketplace."
"Our partnership with Lands` End, Inc. and the introduction of the Major League Baseball Collection are very exciting endeavors," said Howard Smith, senior vice president of Licensing for Major League Baseball Properties. "The combination of our number one asset -- our fans -- with Lands` End`s great products and legendary customer service should make for an incredibly successful relationship."
