Toys R Us grows its annual Internet sales 54%

Web sales at Toys R Us grew 54% last year to $277 million. The web now accounts for 2.5% of Toys R Us’s total revenue, up from 1.6% a year earlier.

Internet sales Toys R Us Inc. grew 54% in the past year and now account for 2.5% of Toys R Us sales, up from 1.6% the year earlier, Toys R Us reported today. Revenue at ToysRUs.com reached $277 million for the fiscal year that ended Feb. 2, the company reports, up from $180 million the year before. Total revenue at the toy chain fell 2.8% to $11.02 billion from $11.33 billion.

In the final quarter of the fiscal year, online revenue grew 24% to $174 million from $140 million the year earlier. Q4 online revenue was 3.6% of revenue vs. 2.9% a year earlier.

ToysRUs.com also narrowed its losses for the year, losing $76 million in the most recent year vs. $212 million the year earlier and $17 million in Q4 vs. $54 million a year earlier.
