Agribuys, supply chain integrator for the food industry, has named Vijay Yajnik as president and chief operating officer.
Yajnik joins Agribuys from the WorldWide Retail Exchange, one of Agribuys’ strategic partners. Before the WWRE, he was group CIO at Hong Kong-based retailer the Dairy Farm Group. He has held a variety of executive management positions at Kmart Corp., California Federal Bank, Crocker National Bank and other financial institutions.
"Vijay brings extensive retail experience to Agribuys; he has a commanding grasp of the retail environment and e-commerce, a thorough understanding of the operating intricacies of IT and deep senior management experience." said Marina Kotsianas, Agribuys` CEO and chairman.
Agribuys offers Internet-based solutions for demand planning and management, procurement, logistics, receiving and payment. The Agribuys Online Marketplace provides a global hub designed for the trading of perishable foods. Agribuys is based in California, with offices in Australia, Asia, Canada, and Europe.
