Multi-channel retailer Coldwater Creek Inc. will close its Sandpoint, ID, distribution center and concentrate its distribution operations in its 600,000-square-foot facility in Parkersburg, WV, the company said today.

The closure will affect 120 jobs. The decision does not affect Coldwater Creek’s plans to maintain its corporate headquarters in Sandpoint, nor does it affect the company`s customer service and technical center in Coeur d`Alene, ID, the company says.

“The downturn in the national economy has required that we further enhance cost controls and increase efficiencies, so we now will be conducting all catalog, Internet, and retail store distribution from West Virginia," said Chairman and co-founder Dennis Pence.

The company also plans to close two outlet stores and reduce headquarters staffing by 20.
