Blue Martini gets a new president

E-CRM company Blue Martini Software has named ex-IBMer Michael J. Borman president and chief operating officer.

San Mateo, CA-based Blue Martini Software Inc., a provider of external customer relationship management applications, has named Michael J. Borman president and chief operating officer. Borman will assume responsibility for all revenue operations, including global sales and professional services, and report to Monte Zweben, chairman and CEO.

Borman joins Blue Martini Software from IBM, where he most recently served as vice president for UNIX sales worldwide. During his tenure he was instrumental in growing the market share for AIX. Before that, Borman ran IBM`s Midwestern sales operation. He also spent four years as IBM`s general manager responsible for small and medium size businesses in Asia Pacific and one year in the U.S. with the same responsibilities.

Among Blue Martini’s clients are Levi Strauss & Co., Harley Davidson, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sainsbury, Virgin, and Carrefour.
