SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Sept. 12, 2001--Vcommerce Corporation, a supply chain management solutions provider, today announced that supply chain sales and business development expert Rick Zipf has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Sales and Alliances.
"Rick has an outstanding record of sales and customer implementation success, a wealth of industry knowledge and a great talent for building high-powered, highly-focused teams. He has over 19 years of sales, business development and implementation experience with supply chain domain expertise in manufacturing, distribution, retail and consumer packaged goods industries. Rick`s rare combination of sales leadership and solutions innovation capability will be one key enabler of our future growth," said Mark Jensen, CEO, Vcommerce Corporation.
"Vcommerce has solid technology that provides key supply chain solutions, but the company is relatively unknown in the marketplace," said Rick Zipf. "We intend to change that by more clearly and aggressively promoting our capabilities, exploring technology alliances, and leveraging existing client relationships to expand market awareness and penetration."
Prior to joining Vcommerce, Zipf was Senior Vice President of Sales at Electron Economy, an enterprise software company defining the market for Supply Network Transaction Management applications for medium and large corporations. Previously, Zipf was responsible for national business development and accelerating sales of e-business and supply chain applications at Deloitte Consulting where he was instrumental in helping his team achieve more than $57 million in sales and winning several major new clients for 1999.
Preceding his tenure at Deloitte, Zipf was the Senior Executive of Geographies for i2 Technologies, where he headed sales and implementation strategies for the company`s supply chain execution software products in the western region. Zipf was also Vice President of the Fast Forward Program and Major Accounts at Oracle Corporation, where he was responsible for the sales and implementation of Oracle applications for companies below $500 million and major high tech accounts. In this role, he achieved 130% annual sales goals and was recognized as Western Region Executive Manager of the year in 1996 and 1997.
After serving in the United States Navy, Zipf began his business career with McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company, ultimately becoming the senior operations executive for the Apache and MD500 helicopter programs. He earned his master`s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix, and his bachelor`s degree from the University of California.
