Troy, MI-based Kmart Corp. has appointed Randy Allen to oversee the integration of BlueLight.com into Kmart, the company announced today. Allen’s title is executive vice president, strategic initiatives and chief diversity officer. She will report to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Charles C. Conaway. Kmart announced earlier this summer that its BlueLight.com operation would no longer be a stand-alone unit.

"In this new position, Randy will create momentum around our key corporate initiatives and ensure we remain focused on implementing programs that are in-line with our strategic objectives," said Conaway.

Allen’s responsibilities include, besides the integration of BlueLight, management of the food distribution agreement with Fleming Cos. Inc. and the company`s multi-cultural activities.

Allen most recently served as Kmart Corporation`s executive vice president, chief planning and information officer. Allen joined Kmart in 2000 from Deloitte Consulting in Parsippany, NJ, where she was the company`s first female partner.
