Home Depot names new vice president for e-business

The Home Depot has created a new position of vice president for e-business and named Rebecca Bass, a former web-software development executive, to the post.

The Home Depot has named Rebecca W. Bass to the new position of vice president for e-business. Bass, former CEO of Galileo Development Systems, an Atlanta based web-software company, was also an executive with LEXIS-NEXIS and Motorola. Her career includes 10 years with the General Electric Co., where she was business general manager of GE Aircraft Engines, among other management posts.

"Our e-Business is now operating in the 48 contiguous states. With the added momentum Rebecca brings, I am expecting the business to take on new importance as we begin to leverage and extend the capabilities of our core and adjacent businesses," said Lynn Martineau, president of Home Depot`s new growth businesses division.
