It launched its main European site--shop.swarovski.com--on June 14. It is using Intershop Communications, Inc.’s e-business platform, which will handle the company`s product catalog as well deal with up to seven languages and five different currencies. It will expand to North America next, then to Asia.
Hamburg, Germany-based Swarovski’s products include decorative crystals, crystal jewelry, grinding tools and optical devices.
Swarovski says its chose Intershop’s Enfinity product because it allows Swarovski to use a single catalog to support multiple languages and currencies, allowing for regional product catalogs and payment options as well as different local languages and currencies.
The company also said Intershop Enfinity allows Swarovski`s e-commerce solution is to be linked with the company`s SAP order management and accounting systems as well as to the data processing application of its logistics partner Hermes General Service.
