FTD.com, retailer of flowers and specialty gifts, has joined Points.com Inc.’s pointsxchange, an online currency exchange for loyalty programs.

The relationship allows pointsxchange users to exchange points, miles and other loyalty program currencies for gift certificates redeemable at FTD.com. It also provides for joint marketing and promotional efforts with FTD.com. Earlier this year Points.com announced similar commercial agreements with Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, America West Airlines, beenz.com, ClickRewards, Esso Extra, GiftCertificates.ca, GiftCertificates.com, LoyaltyTravel, Midwest Express Airlines, PhoneHog.com and RewardStream.

"We are always looking for ways to extend the reach and value of FTD.com in innovative ways and pointsxchange is an excellent way to offer FTD.com to millions of loyalty program members," said Bill Van Cleave, vice president of marketing, FTD.com. "By partnering with Points.com, we are able to provide the enhanced value of flowers and specialty gifts to the world`s first online loyalty program currency exchange."
